New report finds the vicinity of a good school drives higher premiums for buy-to-let investors

A new report just released by Nationwide has found that the vicinity of a good school is a one of the major drivers behind premium-priced rental property.
Location, location, location may be an overused phrase but it’s certainly a good rule of thumb when it comes to seeking out a property that will bring healthy returns on investment, confirms Birmingham letting agency , Accord Lets.

The Nationwide report found property prices in the UK were between 2.6 percent and 4.6 percent higher if they are close to a good school. These statistics mean parents are paying up to £8,000 more to secure a home in the right catchment area in some regions of the country.
Mr Mimmack added, “Given the correlation between rental price and schools it is sometimes worth landlords paying extra for property that is located near a reputable primary or secondary school. As demand for good schools is consistent, homes in these catchment areas will continue to be much sought after on the rental market. ”
